HISTORY BAND A.A.M. YECLA:<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

In 1974, with the enthusiasm of what would become its first president and promoter, Mr. Lu\u00eds Chirlaque Milla, and together with a group of musicians and friends, the Asociaci\u00f3n de Amigos de la M\u00fasica was created.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Band began its journey in 1976 at the opening of the September Fair in this city. Since then there have been many people who have passed through its ranks offering innumerable parades and concerts, also training authentic professionals who today carry out their musical work in different parts of the Spanish geography. This group is proud to have offered concerts in such emblematic venues as the Romea Theater in Murcia, the Municipal Auditorium in Albacete, the Valdecorneja Castle in Barco de \u00c1vila, the Vico Theater in Jumilla, the Ruperto Chap\u00ed Theater in Villena, the \u201cV\u00edctor Villegas\u201d in Murcia, Palau de la M\u00fasica in Valencia, Cervantes Theater in Abar\u00e1n, etc. Without forgetting our beloved Concha Segura Theater.<\/span><\/p>\n

Several compact discs have been published within the \u201cAires de Yecla\u201d collection, also collaborating in the elaboration of others such as the recordings made for the Cabildo Superior de Cofrad\u00edas Pasionarias or the Association of Mayordomos de la Pur\u00edsima Concepci\u00f3n, both entities from Yecla. In our city and in recognition of its social and cultural activity, there have been numerous awards it has received in recent years; Award for the Best Cultural Work of the year 2002 granted by the newspaper El Faro or the \u00abCapit\u00e1n Mora\u00bb Award granted in 2007 are some examples of this.<\/span><\/p>\n

The AAMY Band has participated in numerous National and International competitions in which it has won eight second prizes, six first prizes and two special mentions for the best band. His performances stand out in the International Contests of Valencia and La Senia or in the Flicorno d’oro in Riva del Garda, Italy, being in the Netherlands in the WMC of Kerkrade in 2017 where he won the highest award so far, obtaining a Gold Medal and Special Mention becoming World Champions in their category and the third Band with the highest score in the entire contest. In April of this same year of 2019, he won the Second Prize in the LXXII National Contest of Bands City of Cullera and Special Prize in the parade of the same contest.<\/span><\/p>\n

The two works that are dedicated and premiered by this Band are worthy of mention. Compositions made by two musicians of international prestige such as Jos\u00e9 Rafael Pascual Vilaplana, who dedicated his pasodoble YAKKA to us, world-renowned and premiered at the Palau de la M\u00fasica in Valencia, and the Dutch composer Alexander Comitas with the work EL ENTIERRO DEL CONDE DE ORGAZ. , premiered at the Alc\u00e1zar de Toledo.<\/span><\/p>\n

CONDUCTOR BIOGRAPHY :<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

\u00c1ngel Hern\u00e1ndez Azor\u00edn<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

He was born in Yecla in 1974. At the age of ten he began his musical studies of solfeggio and saxophone at the Asociaci\u00f3n de Amigos de la M\u00fasica de Yecla, later joining its Music Band. He continues his studies at the Superior Conservatory of Music of Murcia, with Professor D. Manuel Mij\u00e1n, finishing his Higher Studies with Professor D. Antonio Salas. He broadens and refines his saxophone studies with Henry Bock, professor at the Amsterdam Conservatory, and Claude Delangle, professor at the Paris Conservatory. He has belonged to various musical groups, such as the Mediterranean Saxophone Quartet, the Saxophone Ensemble of the Murcia Superior Conservatory of Music and the Murcia Conservatory Quartet itself, with which he won the First Prize for Chamber Music in the competition organized by the APA in Murcia. He is a founding member of the saxophone quartet \u00abS\u00e1xibeb\u00bb along with three of his students, with which his performances stand out, his interventions in the programs of Radio Nacional de Espa\u00f1a \u00abCl\u00e1sicos Populares\u00bb presented by Fernando Argenta and Araceli Gonz\u00e1lez Campa, \u00abNo It’s an ordinary day\u201d presented by Pepa Fern\u00e1ndez or \u201cEspa\u00f1a Directo\u201d by Mamen Asencio. Likewise, he has collaborated as soloist saxophone in the Symphonic Band of the Conservatory of Murcia and the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia.<\/span><\/p>\n

Since 1996 he has been the principal conductor of the Music Band of the Asociaci\u00f3n de Amigos de la M\u00fasica de yecla. Between 2010 and 2013 he shared the direction with the Agrupaci\u00f3n Musical de Beniaj\u00e1n and since October 2015 he has been the principal conductor of the AJAM. For his training, he has attended various courses in the specialty of Band Conducting with the teachers: Jos\u00e9 Miguel Rodilla, Jaime Belda, Henrie Adams, Franco Cesarini, Alex Schillings, Jan Van der Roost, Douglas Bostock, Eugene Corporon and Ferrer Ferr\u00e1n or the courses organized by the RBO of Leipzig in the City of W\u00fczwurg (Germany) in May 2007 and the city of Leipzig (Germany) in September 2008, both taught by Master Jan Cober, he also attends the Master Class organized by the Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra in the city of Turin on its European tour in 2010 with teachers Lorenzo della Fonte and Douglas Bostock.<\/span><\/p>\n

In November 2011 he is invited to participate with the Murcia Symphony Orchestra. In March 2012 he is hired to conduct the EPMVC Sopros Orchestra in Portugal. In December 2012 and January 2013 he directed the Symphonic Band of the Murcian Federation as a guest teacher. In the year 2002 he obtains the Accreditation Diploma for his three years of studies in the specialty of Band Conducting, at the Vall D’Albaida Regional School (Valencia) with Master Mr. Jos\u00e9 Rafael Pascual Vilaplana. And since 2010 he has a Higher Degree in the specialty of Band Conducting from the Istituto Superiore Europeo Band\u00edstico by professors Carlo Pirola and Jan Cober after four years of studies in the city of Mezzocorona, Trento (Italy).<\/span><\/p>\n

As principal conductor of the AAM Yecla Band, he has obtained numerous awards in the different competitions he has attended. Six Second Prizes, two Special Mentions for the best band in the Region of Murcia and six First Prizes in the different National and International Competitions they have attended, highlighting the Gold Medal and special mention for the best Band in its category as well as the third best score in the world at the Kerkrade WMC in 2017.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the Agrupaci\u00f3n Musical de Beniaj\u00e1n he has also won two first prizes in two contests, the National of Murcia and the International of Dosbarrios where he won a second prize in 2019 with the AJAM.<\/span><\/p>\n

On a personal level, he won the Best Conductor Award at the \u00abFlicorno d’oro\u00bb International Contest in Italy and was a finalist in the Band Conductors Contest at Abaddia San Salvattore in Siena, Semifinalist at the International Conductors Contest in Kerkrade, Holland and a finalist in the City of Villena Directors contest organized by the University of Alicante.<\/span><\/p>\n

Parallel to this musical work, in December 2006 he had the honor of being the Crier of the Patron Saint Festivities of his hometown. In addition, he is a founding member and member of the 1st National Congress of Band Directors held in Yecla in November 2008. In May 2009 he is invited to participate as a speaker at the 2nd International Congress of Ortigueira in Galicia, forming part of the jury of the 2nd Contest. Iberoamerican Composition. He also serves as President of the ANDB (National Association of Band Directors) created in 2010.<\/span>
